ONE MAN, ONE VISION
Heir to an entrepreneurial dynasty, bold inventor and design enthusiast Robert Weintraud founded Weintraud GmbH in Offenbach, Germany, in 1884. In October 1909, Robert Weintraud joined forces with a Frankfurt industrialist, Julius Herzberger, to manufacture and market non-slip tires and metal articles: writing accessories, smokers' accessories, toiletries... On December 30th, 1909, Weintraud GmbH became Rowenta.
REVOLUTIONIZING DOMESTIC APPLIANCE
In 1913, Rowenta began its rise to prominence in Small Domestic Appliances, marketing electrical products for heating, cooking and lighting. At the end of the decade, in 1919, the brand launched its first iron and a kettle. Other innovations followed, including hotplates, toasters and hair straighteners. From the 1950s, Rowenta refined its products and directed its technological expertise towards creating increasingly sophisticated appliances.
140 YEARS OF INNOVATION BY YOUR SIDE
By joining Groupe SEB in 1988 and benefiting from its rich and diverse ecosystem, Rowenta took a significant step forward. For 140 years, Rowenta has been at the forefront of innovation in its core categories of Personal Care, Home Care, and Linen Care, continuously launching iconic and innovative products. In the US, Rowenta has been, delivering German-engineered excellence and setting new standards for performance in Linen Care for years now. More recently, Rowenta has expanded its innovative offerings to include floor care, fans, and air purifiers, further enhancing its presence in American households.
